BSF's 'Operation Sindoor' keeps pressure on Pakistan after Pahalgam attack

India

The Border Security Force (BSF) is pushing ahead with Operation Sindoor—launched in May after the deadly Pahalgam attack—to target terror infrastructure along the Line of Control.
So far, they've destroyed 118 Pakistani posts and several launchpads; since then, 72 launchpads have come up across the border, with many shifted deeper inland.

Why does it matter?

This operation is a direct response to the Pahalgam terror attack in May that killed 26 civilians, and shows how seriously India takes border security.
BSF Inspector General Ashok Yadav made it clear: any provocation from Pakistan will get a strong reply.
The BSF, working closely with the Indian Army, has also seized hundreds of drones and stopped smuggling attempts in 2025.
Their readiness—shaped by lessons from past conflicts—remains key to keeping the border safe.
