CBSE Class 10 board exam 2026: New answer-writing rules
CBSE is shaking things up for the 2026 Class 10 board exams—students now have to write their answers in clearly labeled sections.
The exams will run from February 17 to March 10, and this change is all about making answer sheets easier to read and grade.
What's different this time?
For Science, you'll split your answer book into Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Social Science gets four sections: History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics.
If you mix up your answers or put them in the wrong section, they won't be checked or given marks—even during re-evaluation.
Why should you care?
This rule fits with the new exam pattern that focuses more on understanding concepts than memorizing facts.
Expect half of the questions to test real-world skills (competency-based), some multiple-choice (20%), and the rest descriptive (30%).
It's designed to make things fairer—and maybe a bit less stressful—for everyone.
