99-year-old retired-teacher molests 10-year-old-girl. Let's hang our heads in shame!

In what is sure to make you angry and compel you to ask questions about where society is headed, a 99-year-old retired headmaster of a government school was arrested for molesting a 10-year-old girl in Chennai. The accused, Parasuram, is the landlord of the house the victim and her family live in. The victim studies at a government school in Class 5, reports said.

Girl complains of stomach ache, mother later finds out
Local police said the elderly violated the girl on July 4, after which she complained of a stomach ache to her mother. Thinking it was a normal pain, the mother brought her tablets from a store but it didn't do anything. She then asked her daughter about what happened and was shocked to know the treatment meted on the poor child.

Police claim the old man admitted to the crime
On learning about the horrific incident, the girl's father confronted the old man. The victim's mother filed a complaint in all-female Avadi police station and a case was registered under POCSO Act. The old man was arrested from his residence on Sunday. He was remanded to judicial custody. However, he continues to deny the crime.
