Chinese tourist sent back after breaking visa rules in Kashmir

India

A 29-year-old Chinese traveler was sent back to New Delhi from Kashmir after he visited areas not allowed by his tourist visa.
He arrived in India last November, but instead of sticking to approved Buddhist sites like Varanasi and Gaya, he explored Leh, Ladakh, and Zanskar—restricted areas for him.
Authorities caught up with him in Budgam, questioned him, and sent him back to New Delhi on Wednesday evening.

How it happened

The tourist skipped the required registration at the Foreigners Regional Registration Office when he landed in Leh.
He then stayed at a homestay in Budgam while he had also visited several areas in Srinagar—again outside his visa's scope.
After a thorough check by police and intelligence teams, officials returned his phone and made sure all legal steps were followed before sending him back to New Delhi.
