'Jantar Mantar 2.0': Cockroach Janta Party warns of fresh protest
What's the story
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has warned of another Jantar Mantar-like protest if the central government fails to fulfill its commitments. The online outfit-turned-pressure group accused the government of betraying the youth by not honoring promises made during previous protests. "We will not allow the Government to insult an entire generation by making promises to end a peaceful movement and then attempting to wriggle out of those very promises once the streets have emptied," CJP said in an official statement.

The CJP highlighted that despite court requests, the government has not provided a list of FIRs filed against student protesters.
The group warned that any attempt to dilute or reinterpret commitments would be seen as a "vishwasghaat" with (betrayal of) India's youth.
They also said no government delegation has reached out regarding steps taken on commitments, including compensation for NEET students' families who died by suicide.
Protest demands
CJP's previous protest
The Cockroach Janta Party ended its over a month-long protest on July 25 after the government accepted all its demands.
These included the resignation of then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, maximum possible compensation for families of NEET paper leak-related suicides, withdrawal of FIRs against protesters, and consideration of a five-point exam reform charter.
The group will meet on August 24 to decide further action if commitments are not fulfilled.
