Delhi's air is rough right now, and it's colder than usual

India

Delhi woke up to "very poor" air quality on Friday, with the AQI hitting 323—higher than Thursday.
The city also shivered through its coldest morning of the season so far at just 5.6°C, which is four degrees below normal.
Pollution levels are expected to stick around for a few more days.

Cold wave & dropping temps: What's going on?

Chilly winds from the Himalayas are keeping northwest India in a cold snap, but they're also stopping pollution from getting even worse.
Fun fact: this is Delhi's coldest start to December since 2011, and this year's low of 5.6°C is much colder compared to recent years.
