Delhi's air quality slips to 'very poor,' Supreme Court weighs in

Delhi's air just got a lot worse—Monday's Air Quality Index hit 301, landing the city in the "very poor" zone.
Out of 38 monitoring stations, most showed "very poor" levels, and only a few were slightly better.
Pollution concerns continue to rise.

Stubble burning debate: CJI says don't just blame farmers

Chief Justice Surya Kant questioned why stubble burning always gets blamed for Delhi's pollution, noting that during the COVID-19 lockdown—even with stubble burning—the skies were clear.
He suggested it's more helpful to educate farmers and give them better tools instead of pointing fingers, highlighting the need for real solutions across NCR.
