Delhi's slum and JJ cluster policy shifts cutoff to 2025
Delhi has a new Delhi Slum and JJ Cluster Rehabilitation and Relocation Policy, 2026 that is ready and set to be notified, making way more people eligible by shifting the cutoff date from January 1, 2015 to January 1, 2025.
Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood says this update will help most slum dwellers in the national capital finally get a shot at permanent housing.
Families to pay ₹1.12L-₹1.41L for housing
With nearly 20 lakh people set to benefit, families, including those living on upper floors, will have to pay a sum ranging between ₹1.12 lakh to ₹1.41 lakh to get a house.
The plan kicks off in five clusters like Mayur Vihar and Lajpat Nagar, focusing on rehabilitation and relocation under PPP, with priority to relocating them close to the existing slum clusters.
While past projects had hiccups, the government is aiming for smoother transitions and better living conditions this time around.
