Diwali revelry turns deadly as speeding car mows down people

A Diwali celebration in Prayagraj turned tragic on Sunday when a speeding Jaguar lost control and crashed into a crowded market, leaving one person dead and around eight others hurt.
Police say the driver seemed drunk and is reportedly from a well-known confectionery family in Lukerganj.

Driver locked himself in the car

After the crash, the driver locked himself inside the car until police got him out.
The impact was so severe that several vehicles were hit before the car plowed into people.
Sadly, Pradeep Kumar Patel (51) died from his injuries.
Locals, upset by what happened, damaged the car and blocked traffic until police promised strict action.
