DK Suresh faces ED in impersonation case
Congress leader DK Suresh recently showed up at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Bengaluru.
The case centers on Aishwarya Gowda, who allegedly pretended to be Suresh's sister and scammed a jeweler out of nearly ₹9.82 crore by claiming connections to both Suresh and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.
Gowda arrested in April; Suresh filed complaint
Gowda was arrested in April, with police recovering ₹2.25 crore in cash from her.
Suresh has said he had no financial ties to Gowda, insisting she even faked his voice to pull off the scam. He's also filed a complaint about his name being misused.
Shivakumar backed him up, pointing out that several people were fooled by the impersonator and that Suresh did everything by the book.
The investigation is still ongoing, with officials looking into any possible links between Gowda and Suresh as political circles watch closely.
