DU student found dead inside Bharti College toilet, suicide suspected

An 18-year-old BA second year student of Delhi University's Bharti College was found dead in a college toilet yesterday morning. A bottle of pesticide and a small knife were found near Vicky Kumari. Though no note was found, cops suspect suicide. Incidentally, her mobile phone wasn't found in her bag, police said. Kumari's family has made no allegations of foul play.

Kumari was found unconscious with froth oozing out of mouth

Kumari had reached the college in Janakpuri yesterday at 8:30am for a 9am class. She later went to the toilet. When she didn't return for long, her classmates went to check and found the door locked from inside. As Kumari didn't respond to repeated knocking, they alerted college staff. Security guards broke open the door to find her unconscious, with froth oozing out of her mouth.

Police are analyzing her call records

Police received a call regarding the incident at 9:50am. When they arrived, they found Kumari unconscious inside the toilet and rushed her to hospital, but she was declared brought dead. Her mother fainted after she arrived at the hospital and was admitted. Meanwhile, "we searched her house but found nothing useful. Her cell phone call records are being analyzed," said DCP Vijay Kumar.

Kumari used to bunk classes, watch videos on mobile

According to police, Kumari, daughter of a government employee, lived with her parents and three siblings in Uttam Nagar. They were natives of Bihar's Chhapra. "We spoke to her friends and teachers who said she was quiet but less confident. They always found her busy watching videos and movies on cell phone. She also used to bunk classes frequently," the DCP added.
