2 IAF commandoes martyred, 2 terrorists killed in J&K encounter
Two Garud commandoes of the Indian Air Force (IAF) have been killed in an encounter with terrorists in the Hajin area of Bandipora in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K). The Garud personnel were on attachment with the Indian Army for operational experience. Two terrorists, reportedly from the Lashkar-e-Taiba, were also killed in the gun battle while two Army jawans were injured.
Security forces came under fire from terrorists
A defense spokesperson said security forces came under fire from terrorists at around 5 am on Wednesday. The security forces were acting on reports of the "presence of about eight terrorists in the area." The two slain terrorists, whose weapons have been recovered, were identified as LeT's Ali Bhai and Nasrullah. Nasrullah was reportedly a local while Ali was a Pakistani national.
