Dr. Prathap Chandra Reddy, a renowned cardiologist, is one of the most famous doctors-turned-entrepreneurs in the country.
He is the Founder and Chairman of the Apollo Hospitals Group, India's first corporate chain of hospitals that introduced international quality healthcare; it was established in 1983.
Reddy, acknowledged widely as "architect of modern Indian healthcare", was also honored with Padma Bhushan (1991) and Padma Vibhushan (2010).
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, the founder of Narayana Health chain
Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, a reputed cardiac surgeon, is another popular doctor-turned-entrepreneur in India.
He is the Founder and Chairman of Narayana Health (formerly known as Narayana Hrudayalaya), a chain of multi-specialty hospitals, heart centers, and primary care facilities, in Bengaluru in 2000.
He was awarded the Padma Shri (2004) and Padma Bhushan (2012) for his contributions to affordable healthcare in the country.

Dr. Syed Sabahat Azim, a doctor and a former IAS officer, is a healthcare entrepreneur.
