Goa nightclub fire: Arrested partner says he was just a "sleeping partner"
India
Ajay Gupta, linked to the devastating Goa nightclub fire that took 25 lives, was arrested while receiving hospital treatment in Delhi.
Though his name wasn't in the original police report, investigators later found out he co-owned Birch by Romeo Lane.
What's happening with the investigation?
Gupta claims he was only a "sleeping partner" and not involved in running the club, but police issued an arrest warrant after uncovering his ownership.
Meanwhile, the main owners—Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra—have reportedly fled to Thailand and are still missing.
Interpol has been called in to help track them down, and several others connected to the club have already been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation.
