Gurugram woman attacked with acid inside hospital
A woman was attacked with acid inside Gurugram's Civil Hospital on Sunday night, shockingly, allegedly by the same man who had assaulted her earlier that evening in Subhash Nagar.
While she was waiting for treatment in the casualty ward, the attacker entered and threw acid on her face, neck, and other parts of her body before escaping.
The incident has raised questions about security in the hospital
The woman suffered serious burns (more than 25%) and was quickly given first aid before being referred to PGIMS Rohtak for advanced care.
Police have started investigating but are waiting to record her statement before filing a formal case.
Hospital officials promised to share closed-circuit television, or CCTV, footage to help catch the attacker.
The incident has sparked worries about hospital security: right now, anyone can walk in without bag checks or ID, even though thousands visit daily.
