With the 2019 Lok Sabha elections just two months away, it's time to gear up.
All eligible voters must possess a valid Voter ID card in order to cast their vote.
In case you have moved from one state to another, you must apply for change of address in your Voter ID card.

When you shift from one state to another, your name must also be transferred from the electoral roll of your previous assembly constituency to that of your new assembly constituency. Hence, you must update your permanent address in your Voter ID, to facilitate this change.

Documents needed to change permanent address on Voter ID card

In order to change your permanent address on Voter ID card, you'll require the following documents:
1) A valid proof of address such as Driving License, Passport, Ration card etc.
2) A valid identity proof such as Aadhaar, PAN etc.
3) Two latest passport-sized photographs.
4) A copy of existing Voter ID card (both sides).

How to change your Voter ID address online

Visit the official website of National Voters' Services Portal.
Click on 'Form 8' link, ie. for 'Correction of entries on Electoral Roll.'
Enter the required personal and constituency-related details.
Upload the necessary documents, viz. ID proof, address proof, passport-sized photographs, and Voter ID card copies.
Finally, verify the information provided by yourself, and submit your request.

In order to change permanent address on your Voter ID card via offline mode, visit your nearest Electoral office. Obtain 'Form 8', fill the required details, and submit the same, along with necessary documents.
