How 'white-collar' terror module using educated youth was busted
A few Jaish-e-Mohammed posters in Nowgam-Bunpora, Srinagar, mostly ignored by locals, caught the sharp eye of SSP GV Sudeep Chakravarthy.
His quick action—registering cases under anti-terror laws—set off an investigation that would unravel a sophisticated, cross-state "white-collar" module.
The breakthrough investigation
CCTV footage led police to three suspects, who then pointed to Moulvi Irfan Ahmad, a local mosque leader since 2020.
Digging into Ahmad's digital trail uncovered links reaching beyond Jammu and Kashmir and resulted in the arrest of Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie from Pulwama, who was working at a Faridabad medical college.
For Chakravarthy—who took charge as Srinagar's SSP this April and has already earned the President's Police Medal for Gallantry—it's been one of his toughest but most impactful breakthroughs yet.
