What's 'Ghazwa-e-Hindi,' narrative Yogi says will never succeed in India
What's the story
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued a stern warning against those trying to create unrest in the state. Speaking at a public meeting in Balrampur, he said, "Some people living in India are working to encourage anti‑national activities inside the country by raising the slogan 'Ghazwa‑e‑Hind.'" "Even imagining 'Ghazwa-e-Hind' or dreaming of it will get a ticket to hell." His remarks came after recent clashes in Bareilly over "I Love Muhammad" posters.

'These fools don't even know...': Adityanath on 'I love Muhammad'
Adityanath condemned the "I Love Muhammad" posters, saying they are ruining children's lives. He said, "These fools don't even know that symbols of faith are honored, not loved. Faith isn't something to be displayed at crossroads; it's a matter of conscience." The CM warned those trying to create disorder that the government won't accept such anarchy and threatened them with severe action.

CM links current unrest to past governments
Adityanath also linked the current unrest to past governments, accusing them of bringing an identity crisis and hindering development in Uttar Pradesh. He said, "These are the same people who brought an identity crisis to Uttar Pradesh along with the corrupt governments." The CM assured that miscreants would be dealt with firmly, just like during the Bareilly incident.

What is 'Ghazwa-e-Hind?'
The "Ghazwa-e-Hind" narrative is based on Hadiths predicting an Islamic conquest of India preceding the 'end of times,' culminating in the subcontinent's conquest. Though many scholars doubt their authenticity, terror groups use them to incite anti-India sentiments and recruit militants. Pakistan-based groups like Jaish-e-Mohammad have reportedly used this narrative to justify attacks on India as religious holy wars.
