IIM Indore investigates sexual harassment complaint in placement cell
India
IIM Indore is looking into a sexual harassment complaint filed by a female student against a male student from the placement cell.
The accused has stepped down from his committee role after the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) intervened.
The incident happened off-campus, and the ICC responded immediately.
Calls for transparency and victim support
Student group ABVP has urged IIM Indore to keep the investigation fair and open, even suggesting that the current Placement Committee be disbanded to avoid bias.
They're also asking for better mental, legal, and administrative support for victims.
Director Himanshu Rai assured everyone that the inquiry follows Vishaka guidelines, which are meant to protect women at work and ensure all complaints are handled properly.
