IMD issues 3 day severe weather warning for 21 states
Heads up, IMD has put out a severe weather warning for the next three days in 21 states across India.
Expect heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds (up to 80km per hour), all thanks to an active southwest monsoon and a cyclonic system over the north.
Disruptions like waterlogging, fallen trees, power cuts, and possible crop damage are likely.
States face landslides hail and waterlogging
States like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Jharkhand are on high alert for storms and heavy showers.
In Uttarakhand, landslides and blocked roads could be an issue.
Himachal Pradesh might see moderate rain with cooler temperatures and isolated hailstorms at higher altitudes.
Assam and Meghalaya might see more waterlogging too.
Down south (Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu), moderate rain is expected with cooler temperatures (finally some relief from the heat!).
IMD suggests avoiding unnecessary travel during storms, staying away from open fields and trees during lightning, and looking out for your harvested crops or livestock if you're in these areas.
