IMD warns of cold wave and rain across India
Heads up: The IMD has issued cold wave alerts for West Madhya Pradesh between November 18-20, with chilly conditions also likely in Chhattisgarh, East Rajasthan, Marathawada, Telangana, and Vidarbha.
Places across Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, and northern Uttar Pradesh could see temperatures dip to 7-10°C.
Down south, Telangana districts are under yellow alerts for cold weather, while Tamil Nadu and Kerala are expecting rain and thunderstorms—Chennai's on yellow alert and Thiruvarur is at orange.
Why bother?
Cold waves can potentially make it tough for people with health issues or those without warm shelter.
Rain and storms down south might lead to waterlogging or flooding in some areas.
For farmers, the sudden chill or heavy rain could possibly hurt crops and livestock.
Additionally, foggy mornings might affect travel plans—so keeping an eye on these alerts can help everyone stay safe and prepared.
