India, Seychelles launch 11th 'Lamitiye' joint military exercise
India and Seychelles just launched the 11th Lamitiye joint military exercise on March 9, running through March 20 at the Seychelles Defence Academy.
This edition features participation from all three services of the Indian armed forces (Army, Navy and Air Force), marking a significant milestone in the exercise's evolution.
More about the exercise
Lamitiye is a biennial training event and has been conducted in Seychelles since 2001, but this edition features participation from all three services of the Indian armed forces.
The focus is on working together in real-world scenarios—think operations in a semi-urban environment, using new tech to handle threats, and sharing skills.
It's all about boosting teamwork between both countries and enhancing cooperation and interoperability between the two countries.
