IndiGo cancels 1,200+ flights in November—here's what's going on

India

IndiGo, India's biggest airline, has hit major turbulence lately. Since late November, they've canceled over 1,200 flights—the highest among Indian airlines.
On December 5 alone, all domestic flights out of Delhi were grounded until midnight, leaving thousands of travelers stranded across cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Why does this matter?

The chaos started after new Flight Duty Time Limitations kicked in on November 1, cutting pilot hours and causing a crew crunch.
IndiGo's punctuality dropped drastically to just 8.5% on December 4 (ouch).
To help out frustrated passengers, the airline is waiving cancelation and rescheduling fees for bookings between December 5-15 and offering hotel stays and meals at airports.
They're also reducing flights from December 8 to get things back on track progressively after that date.
If you're flying soon, keep an eye out for updates!
