IndiGo cancels 550+ flights, travel plans hit hard

India

IndiGo, India's biggest airline, canceled over 550 flights on December 4 because of crew shortages and technical glitches.
This left a lot of travelers—both in India and abroad—scrambling to change their plans.
On-time performance dropped sharply to just under 20%, and major airports like Delhi and Mumbai were especially affected.

What's being done about it?

With cancelations spiking to nearly 200 a day, aviation officials have stepped in for talks with IndiGo to find solutions.
CEO Pieter Elbers told staff that normalizing operations and bringing back punctuality will not be an "easy target."
The airline says it's doing its best to get things back on track and make things easier for passengers as soon as possible.
