IndiGo faces backlash over flight chaos in North India

IndiGo had a rough Thursday in North India, with over 300 flights canceled and major delays—especially at Chandigarh Airport, where almost every flight was late.
Frustrated passengers flooded social media, calling out the airline for poor communication and leaving many travel plans in limbo.

What went wrong?

Big delays hit popular routes like Chandigarh-Mumbai and Chandigarh-Chennai, with some flights running hours behind schedule. Jammu airport saw most of its flights disrupted too.
IndiGo explained that a software glitch—after new rules from aviation authorities—messed up pilot scheduling.
While the airline says it tried to update travelers via SMS and shuffle schedules, many passengers still felt let down by slow responses and confusing rescheduling.
