IPS officer Anshu Kumar appointed as Bengaluru Central Jail chief

India

After videos of inmates partying and using phones inside Bengaluru Central Jail went viral, the Karnataka government has brought in IPS officer Anshu Kumar as the new Chief Superintendent to clean things up.
The previous superintendent was transferred following public backlash, with Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara stating, "The government will not tolerate this at any cost," and calling the violations "unacceptable."

Government takes action, plans to enhance prison security

The government isn't stopping there—they've suspended two top jail officials and set up a committee led by ADGP Jitendra to review prison security across the state.
Big changes are coming: expect more CCTV monitoring, tech upgrades, and fresh hires to fill empty posts—all aimed at making sure this kind of chaos doesn't happen again.
