Jaishankar calls for peace, dialogue as Iran retaliates against attacks
India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has called for peace and dialogue after U.S.-Israel strikes on Iran led to deaths and sparked a wave of retaliatory attacks.
Jaishankar said he was very concerned about the situation in West Asia, highlighting that India is pushing for de-escalation and is focused on protecting its people there.
India is actively working to keep its citizens safe
With thousands of Indians living and working in West Asia, India's government is actively working to keep them safe, holding high-level meetings, talking directly with leaders from across the region, and helping 67,000 citizens return home so far.
The situation remains tense with ship attacks causing casualties, but India says it is staying alert and doing everything possible to look out for its people.
