Kerala nursing students killed by train in Karnataka

Two young nursing students from Kerala, Sterlin Eliza Shaji (19) and Justin Joseph (20), lost their lives after being hit by a Vande Bharat Express train near Chikkabanavara station in Karnataka.
The two were heading back to their accommodation from college when they tried to cross the tracks.

What's happening now

Police are investigating what led to the accident, looking at both accidental and other possible causes.
The families have been informed and are on their way to Bengaluru.
