Kerala woman's suicide triggers controversy
After the tragic death of Raseena, a 40-year-old mother of three from Pinarayi, Kerala, police arrested three men for allegedly humiliating her in public—a case linked to so-called "moral policing."
The arrests came after a suicide note surfaced mentioning the accused, who are reportedly connected to the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).
TL;DR
Victim's mother defends accused
Raseena's mother insists the arrested men—her own relatives—are innocent, and instead points to a friend from Mayyil village whom she accuses of financially exploiting Raseena.
Police are still investigating and have seized devices from those involved in the alleged mob trial to better understand what led up to Raseena's death.
