Sadhvi wants public-killing of cow-slaughterers, Keraliites respond with beef recipes
The topic of beef has brought about a rare unity across Kerala. Residents are up in arms against Sadhvi Saraswati, a preacher from MP's Chhindwara, who said those who slaughter cows should be killed publicly. Her Facebook page has now been flooded with beef recipes, pictures of beef dishes and of BJP leaders eating beef, and requests to not spread "communal hatred" in Kerala.
The president of the Sanatan Dharma Prachar Seva Samiti, while speaking at Badiadka in Kerala's Kasargod Friday, said, "'Gau Mata' was killed and beef party organized in Kerala. Such slaughterers have no right to live in India!" "Now I'd say something that may sound bitter or wrong. If goons tease your mother, what'll you do? But in Kerala, cows are publicly slaughtered."
Since then, people have been posting recipes on her Facebook page. "Add 2 tbsp of water to beef and Crush dried red chilli, and pressure cook till the beef is cooked," beings a comment. "We all have #gomatha in ourselves in different forms....you have its dung in your head and we have its meat on our stomach," said another. Many posted photos of beef dishes.
"Behan ji, hamaara party secretrary eating beef curry ji. Woh bola ki woh beef curry nahi onion curry hai. Uske baadh yahaan ki laal-jihaadi lokom usko 'Onion Sura' bulaatha hai ji. Kuch karo ji...," said another sarcastic comment, along with a photo purportedly of state BJP leaders eating beef. There were also pictures purportedly of state BJP/RSS leaders eating beef.
The beef comments were only one controversial part of her Friday speech. She also urged men to buy swords for sisters so they can behead 'love jihadis.' "Gift (your sister) a sword, so if any love-jihadi dares to look at her, she gets the courage to behead him and offer his head to Mother India." A police case has been lodged against her.
