Leopard strays into Bihar town, injures 11 during rescue chaos

India

A wild leopard wandered out of Kaimur Wildlife Sanctuary and ended up in Kochas, Bihar, where it injured 11 people in total—including three forest officials, who were hurt during the rescue operation, not at the paddy field.
The animal first targeted local farmers before moving through the area and causing more panic.

Rescue drama and what's next for the leopard

The rescue was intense: after hiding in an under-construction house, the leopard was finally captured with a net by forest officer Stalin Fidal Kumar K and his team.
Unfortunately, crowd noise made things worse, leading to injuries among rescuers too.
Everyone hurt is recovering at a local health center, and the leopard is being sent to Rajgir for rehabilitation instead of being released right away.
