Over 3,800 lights on Ayodhya's Ram, Bhakti paths reportedly stolen
Police have filed a FIR after thousands of lights installed along the Bhakti Path and Ram Path in Ayodhya were allegedly stolen. Shekhar Sharma, a representative of Yash Enterprises and Krishna Automobiles, which installed the lights, claimed that up to 3,800 bamboo lights and 36 gobo projector lights have gone missing. "Till 19 March, all the lights were there, but after an inspection on May 9, it was found that some lights were missing," Sharma said in the complaint.
6,400 bamboo lights were installed on Ram Path
In total, 6,400 bamboo lights were installed on Ram Path, and 96 projector lights were installed on Bhakti Path, Sharma added. The lights were over ₹50 lakh. PTI reported that incidents of missing street lights were discovered in May; however, the corporation did not register a complaint about it until August 9. Ayodhya, a temple town in Uttar Pradesh, underwent extensive renovations ahead of the January 22 consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir.
Bhakti Path is a road leading to the Ram Mandir
Bhakti Path is a road that connects Shringar Ghat to Hanuman Garhi and, eventually, the Ram Mandir. Shops and apartments along this 742-meter avenue have been painted saffron to give it a unique appearance. Kanak Bhawan and Dashrath Mahal are among the important landmarks along the way. It intersects Ram Path, a 13-kilometer-long, four-lane highway that connects Sadatganj to Naya Ghat.
