Maharashtra Class XII: Mumbai fares the worst of 9 regions
Results of Class XII examinations of the Maharashtra Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board were declared on May 30. The overall pass percentage was registered at 89.50%. Girls (93.50%) performed better than boys (86.65%). Meanwhile, Konkan (95.20%) topped the list of nine regions for the sixth year this time. Mumbai lagged behind at 88.21%. Girls outshine boys by significant margin, science students outperform others
Science students performed the best, with a pass percentage of 95.85%. Commerce (90.57%) and Arts (81.91%) followed. Region-wise, Kolhapur (91.40), Pune (91.16), Aurangabad (89.83), Amravati (89.12), Nagpur (89.05), Latur and Nasik (88.22) followed Konkan. Mumbai fared the worst. Nearly 15 lakh students took the exams this year: 5.6 lakh for Science, 5.1 lakh for Arts, and 3.73 lakh for Commerce. 6,56,000 were girls and 8,48,000 boys.
