Man kills wife, burns body, inspired by Bollywood's 'Drishyam': Report
In Pune, 42-year-old Samir Jadhav has been arrested for murdering his wife Anjali, reportedly inspired by the Bollywood movie 'Drishyam.'
Police say Samir strangled Anjali last October over suspected infidelity, then burned her body in a fabrication kiln and scattered the ashes in a riverbed to hide what he'd done.
Samir went to great lengths to cover his tracks
Samir spent about a month planning—he rented a godown, which police believe was for this purpose, and even filed a missing person report to throw police off.
But CCTV footage showed Anjali leaving with him, which didn't match his story.
During questioning, police discovered Samir was having an affair and had used a friend's phone to send fake messages making it look like Anjali was cheating.
After sustained interrogation, he confessed.
The investigation is ongoing at two local police stations due to the seriousness of the case.
