Man with gun arrested ahead of Vijay's Puducherry event

Just before actor Vijay's big public meeting in Puducherry, police detained a man carrying a pistol at the venue.
The timing is tense—this is Vijay's first public event since the tragic Karur stampede that took 41 lives, so the event is under intense scrutiny.

Security gets a major upgrade for the event

To keep things safe, only 5,000 local residents can attend and they'll need QR-coded passes.
Vulnerable groups are being kept out for extra caution. Plus, instead of taking the stage, Vijay will speak from a campaign vehicle this time.
