#MeToo: Vinod Dua deserves place in hall-of-shame, says accuser
The latest addition in the long and infamous list of sexual predators is Vinod Dua, who has been accused of sexual harassment by a journalist/filmmaker in a long Facebook post. The senior journalist, famous for his show 'Jan Gan Man Ki Baat' for The Wire, harassed the accuser Nishtha Jain in his car. Jain said she had to speak up to unravel Dua's hypocrisy.
In June 1989, Nishtha Jain was excited for her interview
Jain said in June 1989 she graDuated from Jamia Mass Communication Center, and had an interview with the renowned journalist. Excited about it, she dressed in her best saree, hoping to get a job. But on meeting Dua, she was let down. When he asked about her expectations, she quoted Rs. 5,000. On this, Dua said, "Tumhari Aukat Kya Hai" (What's your worth)?
The interview left Jain shattered
"I don't know what had hit me. I was stunned. What was this about? I had faced sexual harassment early in life but this sort of humiliation was a new experience. By the time I reached home I was in tears," Jain wrote.
Jain got another job, but Dua kept track of her
After the bitter experience, Jain got a job at NewsTrack as a video editor but somehow Dua learned about it. One day as she was leaving work, he asked her to get inside his car. Assuming he wanted to apologize, Jain entered the vehicle. But Dua assaulted her. Not only that he visited her office numerous times after the incident.
Dua slobbered all over Jain's face
"I entered the car but before I could even settle down he began slobbering all over my face. I managed to get out and get into my office car and leave. I spotted him again in the parking in the coming nights," she wrote.
Jain tells Mallika Dua her father isn't that righteous
Jain wrote Dua slamming Akshay Kumar for misbehaving with his daughter Mallika, reeked of hypocrisy. She called him an opportunist and said he made programs about sexual harassment when he himself is one of the predators. Jain added she wouldn't be surprised if Dua denies the incident. "Sorry, Mallika Dua, your father is also one who belongs to the hall of shame," she concluded.
