Modi gifts Bhagavad Gita to Putin during New Delhi visit

During his first trip to India in four years, Russian President Vladimir Putin received a Russian translation of the Bhagavad Gita from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The thoughtful gift was meant to highlight the Gita's inspirational teachings.

Putin got a warm welcome at Palam airport, complete with traditional dance performances, before heading to Modi's place for pre-summit talks.
The main summit is set for Friday and will focus on defense ties and making sure trade between the two countries stays solid despite outside pressure.
Modi also hosted a private dinner for Putin, echoing the hospitality he received in Moscow last year—another sign these two countries are keen on working closely together.
