Mumbai court acquits man in 2021 child poisoning case

A Mumbai court has cleared Ali Naushad Ansari, who was accused of murdering his son and trying to poison his two other kids with rat poison-laced ice-cream back in June 2021.
The prosecution said family disputes were the motive, but the judge found there just wasn't enough solid proof to link Ansari to the crime.

Weak evidence and witness flip lead to acquittal

Key witnesses, including the children's mother, changed their stories in court—she denied filing a complaint or blaming her husband.
One daughter even said they ate snacks bought with their mom's money, not from their dad.
With no physical evidence tying Ansari to the poisoning and no independent witnesses stepping up, the case fell apart and he was acquitted.
