Mumbai man alleges IndiGo staff humiliated blind mother

A LinkedIn post by Turab Chimthanawala is making waves after he shared how IndiGo staff at Mumbai airport allegedly mistreated his visually impaired mother.
Even though they'd requested help in advance, staff reportedly gave little support—so much so that his mom had to guide them instead.

TL;DR

How the staff allegedly behaved

Chimthanawala says IndiGo staff not only ignored their requests for assistance but also mocked them, claiming help stops at the security gate (which isn't true under Indian law).
He described staff whispering and gesturing while he and his mom struggled with luggage.
Any help offered was quickly withdrawn once it became clear his mother was blind.

Airline has responded to the post

IndiGo apologized and promised to investigate, saying they're committed to helping all passengers.
But the story has struck a nerve online, with many sharing their own stories about traveling with disabilities and calling out airlines for not doing enough.
As Chimthanawala put it, "Do blind passengers still need to fight for basic dignity?"
His experience highlights how airline policies often don't match what actually happens on the ground.
