Mumbai to just see light rain from Cyclone Shakti: IMD

Good news for Mumbai—Cyclone Shakhti isn't hitting as hard as expected.
The IMD now says the city will just see light, scattered rain until October 8.
Earlier warnings about heavy downpours have been dialed back since the cyclone is staying further away in the Arabian Sea.

Palghar may get heavy rain on October 8

Thane and Raigad can expect some light showers too, but Palghar might get heavy rain on October 8, so folks there should stay alert for possible flooding in low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, parts of interior Maharashtra like East Vidarbha and Marathwada are still bracing for heavier rain and storms.
Also, rough seas along northern Maharashtra mean it's best for fishermen to avoid venturing out until October 5.
