Navsarjan group to collect shoes for kids after shoe-throwing incident
After a lawyer threw a shoe at Chief Justice of India BR Gavai, Gujarat's Navsarjan group flipped the script—they're collecting 5,000 pairs of shoes to give to underprivileged students across six states from November 26 to December 6.
Instead of anger, they're channeling the moment into something positive for kids who need it.
How to participate in the campaign
Navsarjan is encouraging people who've benefited from reservation policies to donate shoes as a way of giving back.
Each shoebox carries messages like "Samvidhan ko Sunahra Salam" (A Golden Salute to the Constitution), highlighting respect for constitutional rights.
Half the shoes will go to girls in classes 5-10, and the campaign kicks off on Constitution Day and Dr. Ambedkar's death anniversary—making it all about justice, inclusion, and community action.
