Nepal border security beefed up after Delhi blast

India

A tragic explosion near Delhi's Red Fort metro station on November 10 left 12 people dead and 20 injured.
In response, officials have ramped up security at the Indo-Nepal border, especially around the busy Sonauli crossing, to stop anyone trying to slip through after the attack.

What are the authorities doing?

Uttar Pradesh Police and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), backed by intelligence teams, have set up more CCTV and drone surveillance along key routes to Nepal.
Metal detectors are now in place at main checkpoints like Sonauli and Tuthibari.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for a high alert, while police chiefs have been told to watch sensitive spots closely—quick response teams and bomb squads are ready just in case.
The goal: keep people safe without causing too much hassle for travelers.
