NIA arrests man who aided Amritsar temple attackers

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Sharanjit Kumar, also known as Sunny, for his role in the March 2025 grenade attack on an Amritsar temple.
The attack was carried out by two men following instructions from handlers based abroad.
Kumar was tracked down and caught in Gaya, Bihar.

Kumar's role in the attack

According to the NIA, the plot was orchestrated by handlers in Europe, the US, and Canada who provided support and target details.
Kumar's part included receiving four grenades earlier in March and giving one to the attackers just before the incident.
