No entry for Shankaracharya in Ayodhya until he does this
Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, a leading Ayodhya seer, has said Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwarananda will not be allowed to enter the city until he apologizes to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his recent comments.
Acharya put it simply: "Avimukteshwarananda will no longer be allowed entry into Ayodhya," and "Until he apologizes to Yogi, he will not be allowed to enter Ayodhya,".
What is the beef (pun intended) between Avimukteshwarananda and Adityanath
It all started on Mauni Amavasya (January 18), after police stopped his palanquin for crowd control, when Avimukteshwarananda began a sit-in protest.
He demanded that Adityanath stop cow slaughter and beef exports in Uttar Pradesh within 40 days, and also called for cows to be named "Rashtra Mata."
The incident led to a 10-day protest that wrapped up on January 28.
Acharya's history of controversial statements
Acharya isn't new to controversy—he has supported banning non-Hindus from certain religious spots.
His statements often spark debate among religious and political circles.
