Noida man arrested for trying to harm partner's kids
India
A 22-year-old man, Ashish Singh, was arrested in Noida after he allegedly threw his partner's two young children—just 2.5 and 4 years old—into a drain.
Thankfully, some quick-thinking passersby rescued the kids, and they're now safe with their mother at a Child Welfare Committee shelter.
What led to this and what happens next
Singh had been pressuring his partner to send her kids to their biological father in Kanpur, but she refused.
He tricked her into going to the market before carrying out his plan.
At first, Singh denied everything and claimed the kids were missing or kidnapped, but later admitted what he did during police questioning.
He's now facing charges for child abandonment and attempted murder.
