Several attacks on security personnel in recent months

In August, eight CRPF personnel were killed when terrorists attacked a district police complex in Pulwama.

Later, three terrorists opened fire at a BSF camp near the Srinagar airport; one jawan was killed. JeM claimed the attack.

Days ago, JeM had vowed revenge for the killing of its commander Noor Mohammad Tantray alias Noor Trali in an overnight encounter in Pulwama.
