Pakistan-linked terror module busted for Gurdaspur grenade attack

India

Delhi Police have arrested three men—Hargunpreet Singh, Vikas Prajapati, and Asif—for carrying out a grenade attack outside Gurdaspur City Police Station on November 25, 2024.
The group was reportedly guided by Shehzad Bhatti, a gangster-turned-terrorist based in Pakistan and linked to its intelligence agency.
Before the attack, which injured four civilians, the suspects scouted several locations and recorded videos as part of their planning.

How police cracked the case

Investigators seized a pistol, live cartridges, and incriminating chats tying the suspects to Bhatti.
The trio had been recruited via social media, with Prajapati specifically wanted in an arms-smuggling case, while Singh and Asif were involved in logistics for terror activities.
After a 48-hour search, Prajapati was caught in Datia; Singh and Asif were picked up soon after based on his confession.
Bhatti remains at large in Pakistan but is under close watch as police continue tracking down more people connected to him with help from Punjab Police.
