PM-Kisan installment delayed to avoid election code violation
The 21st installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme—where eligible farmers get ₹2,000—will now arrive in early November, not before Diwali as many expected.
The timing coincides with Bihar's Assembly elections on November 6 and 11, and the Model Code of Conduct is in effect, which may have influenced the schedule.
Meanwhile, farmers hit by floods in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh (September 26), and Jammu & Kashmir (October 7) have already received their payments.
What is the PM-Kisan scheme?
PM-Kisan is a big deal for small and marginal farmers: it offers ₹6,000 a year in three direct transfers.
Over 9.8 crore farmers benefited from the last payout in August 2025.
To keep things fair and targeted, everyone needs to finish eKYC and link Aadhaar with their bank account—and the government is removing duplicate or wrongful beneficiaries too.
This support helps over 85 million families manage farming costs at a crucial time.
