PMO orders fresh pollution study for Delhi-NCR as air quality worsens

India

Delhi's air is getting worse, so the Prime Minister's Office has asked for new studies to figure out exactly where all the pollution is coming from.
The goal? Update old data and get a clearer picture of what's making the air so unhealthy.
This move was decided in a recent task force meeting led by Principal Secretary P K Mishra.

What's changing: focus on vehicles, dust, and stricter rules

The new studies will zero in on big offenders like vehicle emissions and dust from roads and construction.
There are also plans to improve road paving and add more greenery.
IIT Kanpur will set tougher emission standards for industries, while thermal power plants face closer checks to cut down sulfur dioxide.
All these steps are part of a bigger push to make Delhi-NCR's air cleaner for everyone.
