Ram Janmabhoomi leader, ex-BJP MP Ram Vilas Vedanti dies at 67
Ram Vilas Vedanti, a well-known face in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and former BJP MP, passed away early Monday in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh at age 67.
He was hospitalized with septicemia on Sunday; his health quickly declined due to kidney failure and low blood pressure, leading to a heart attack.
Despite efforts to move him to AIIMS Bhopal by air ambulance—called off because of poor visibility—he could not be saved.
Who was Ram Vilas Vedanti?
Born in Rewa district in 1958, Vedanti became a prominent spiritual leader and played a big role as executive president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust.
He served as Lok Sabha MP from Pratapgarh and Machhali Shahar (Uttar Pradesh) for the BJP.
Deeply involved in advocating for the Ram Mandir's construction, he remained committed to his faith throughout his life.
At the time of his passing, he was narrating religious stories in Rewa; according to his disciple Chhote Das Maharaj, his last rites will be held in Ayodhya.
